How do we grow in faith?

Reposted from Summit Bible College's facebook.

Romans 4:22
“And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous”

How do we grow in faith?
  1. By not letting our emotions dictate our walk.
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
  1. By remembering what we need to remember and forgetting what we need to forget.
Philippians 3:12-16
I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you. But we must hold on to the progress we have already made.
  1. By delving into the Word of God everyday and lining every thought up to the truth.
Joshua 1:8
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.
  1. By acting on the faith you’ve received and heard through the Word of God.
Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
James 2:18
Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
  1. By declaring the truth! For we are Kings and priests; Kings make decrees!
1 Peter 2:9
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”
2 Corinthians 4:13
“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak...”
  1. Thank God ahead of time!!
Daniel 2:23
“I thank you and praise you, O God of my fathers; you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king’s demand.”
